Thanksgiving 2010 (Part IV - Just another day in Marin)

In Marin, Lyra had adventures every day, but she still followed some regular routines -- you know, to cool things down a bit and keep it real.

Lyra started every day with a healthy breakfast: hard-boiled eggs, bananas, strawberries, and so forth. But the main event was lunch. Turns out Lyra likes salmon. Correction: Lyra loves salmon.

Lyra at her high chair, with salmon and roasted butternut squash. Or maybe carrots. Some orangey root vegetable. The main thing is, there was salmon. Delicious salmon caught by Lyra's great-grandfather Jerry.

After a meal, Lyra would take a constitutional around the neighborhood. Although it would not usually be a long walk, the fresh air and beautiful view always put Lyra in a good mood.
"It's just like Houston!"

"One more lap! One more lap!"

After her morning work out, Lyra likes to nap for somewhere between 30 minutes and 2 hours, depending on her mood. Lyra's naps are like a box of chocolates - you never know what you're going to get.

Play time normally starts after nap time.

The stairs are Lyra's favorite spot. She can supervise the whole house -- Nana cooking in the kitchen, Opa watching TV in the family room, Mommy pretending to read a book in the family room. All is well.

Lyra shows Nana her latest kung fu pose, while levitating a ball. Pretty advanced for a baby!

Lyra plays with her Dad's and Uncle Greg's favorite toy from when they were babies. Hey Opa -- good thing Nana kept all these toys, right?

One afternoon, Nana needed to go to San Rafael for a hair cut. Lyra and Mommy decided to accompany her. It was a tailor-made Lyra Adventure!

Lyra visits Albert Park in San Rafael. Did she know this was her dad's favorite park when he was a kid?

"Warriors, come out and play-ay!"

Before you know it, it's time for bed. Where did the hours go?

Nana reads Lyra a bed time story: "A cow says ... moo."

Just another day in Marin!
