Lyra in Marin (April 24, 2011 - May 7, 2011)

When Lyra heard that Daddy was flying to San Francisco, she was afraid he'd be lonely on the plane without her and agreed to accompany him. What a thoughtful baby!

Lyra insisted on taking Daddy to her favorite places in Marin. First stop: the new playground at Corte Madera Town Park, to see Daddy's friends Mark and Jen and their two kids, Nate and Julia.

Lyra poses for the new Giants Dugout catalog.

Playing "Where's the feather?" with Mark.

Having heard that Mark is a renowned expert on feathers, Lyra agrees to let him inspect her latest find.

Next stop: the Bay Area Discovery Museum in Fort Baker, just north of the Golden Gate.
with Daddy's friend JinAh, her husband Ken, and their son Jonah. JinAh has a family membership and badges everyone in for free. Score!

Lyra helps Opa with his Mandarin pronunciation.

Lyra has her own cup and wants to make sure things stay that way.

Lyra pretends not to see Scott, waiting patiently for her to give back his wiffleball.

Lyra starts her windup.

After sliding safely into home, Lyra high fives Scott.

"My walk off grand slam? It was nothin'."

Even preparing for the outback, Lyra still finds time to smile for the paparazzi.

on Opa's lap.

Why is Nana so tired?

Lyra gets a big hug from her Oma.

A triumphant Lyra returns with arugula for the nightly salad, followed by her helpers Nana and Oma.

"Nana, quit joking around! Are you seriously telling me that Sara and Jose have never been photographed in a field of California poppies, either?"

Oma, Lyra, and Nana in the front yard at Nana and Opa's house. As a good Dutch girl, Lyra loves the color orange. And gouda cheese. She's not sure how she feels about herring.
