Lyra has never had her hair cut at a salon. She went once, but she did not like the non-customized service and uncomfortable chairs and left before the stylist even picked up a pair of scissors. What kind of a cut-rate joint doesn't have a high chair? Lyra's favorite hair stylist (of course) is Mommy.
