Day Care: The First Six Months

Lyra loves her daycare. She has made so many good friends, and every day brings something new: finger painting, baking soda volcanos, learning to spell, and more. Last September, she started in Twos 1, and this week she transitioned into preschool. Let's look back at some of the highlights.

Zoologist Lyra

O.M.G. A parrot. Is riding a scooter.

Teacher Jaime helps Lyra give the parrot a gentle touch on its feathers.

Musical Lyra

Lyra is so going to be in a band.

Mommy wants Lyra to play piano or violin. Lyra wants to play guitar.

Sporty Lyra

Lyra and friends practice kicking soccer balls with smiley faces.

Crocs are not usually known as footwear for athletes, but Lyra makes it work.

Artistic Lyra

Lyra can create a masterpiece without even looking.

Something tells me this will not be the last time Lyra masquerades as a ladybug.

Scientific Lyra

Lyra creates bubbles.

Invisible ink? Or art?

Chef Lyra

Lyra practices her dumpling-making skills.

Hey! That's not a dumpling!

Caring Lyra

Lyra and her friends Everly and Sana take turns covering each other with blankets to take a pretend nap.

Not so fast, Lyra -- Mommy is not ready to be a grandmother.

Playground Lyra

Lyra might possibly be favorably inclined toward the slide.

This time, with her eyes closed.

Birthday Lyra

When Lyra turned three, Mommy and Daddy came to class with ice cream and cake for everyone. Hooray!

Lemon cake with vanilla frosting. Daddy's favorite! Um, I mean, Lyra's favorite!
